Description
A quick, 5-minute healthy breakfast smoothie designed for busy mornings. It combines ripe bananas, rolled oats, and peanut butter for a filling, creamy drink that kids love and parents can trust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium ripe bananas (peeled and chopped)
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter (smooth)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 handful spinach (optional)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and chop them into quarters or smaller pieces.
- Pour the milk into the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
- Add the rolled oats, peanut butter, honey (if using), and any optional mix-ins like spinach or yogurt.
- Add the banana chunks on top of the other ingredients.
- Blend on high for 45-60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy with no oat bits.
- Taste and adjust consistency by adding more milk if too thick or ice/frozen banana if too thin.
- Pour immediately into cups and serve.
Notes
For a smoother texture with a weaker blender, soak the oats in the milk for 5-10 minutes before blending. Frozen bananas can be used for a thicker, frostier consistency. This smoothie is best consumed fresh, but ingredients can be prepped and frozen in bags for quick morning assembly.
