Description
A quick, comforting winter drink made with apple cider, caramel sauce, and a pinch of sea salt. Ready in just 5 minutes with pantry-friendly ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (240ml) 100% apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
- 2 tablespoons (30g) thick caramel sauce
- 1 pinch fine sea salt
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- 1 cinnamon stick (for garnish)
- Vanilla ice cream (optional, for floating)
Instructions
- Pour the apple cider into a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
- Warm the cider slowly until steaming and edges shimmer, ensuring it does not boil (approx. 3 minutes).
- Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Stir in the caramel sauce vigorously with a whisk until completely dissolved.
- Add a pinch of sea salt and stir to combine.
- Pour the hot cider into a mug.
- Top with whipped cream, a cinnamon stick, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
Do not boil the cider as it can make the flavor flat or cooked. Remove from heat before adding caramel to prevent seizing. Adjust salt based on the sweetness of your caramel sauce. For a spiked version, add 1-2 ounces of bourbon or rum.
