Description
A refreshing, alcohol-free summer slushie made with frozen strawberries, peaches, lime juice, and sparkling water. It’s thick, creamy, and ready in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (300g) frozen strawberries
- 1 cup (150g) frozen peach slices
- 3 tablespoons (45ml) fresh lime juice
- 1 cup (240ml) plain sparkling water
- 2–3 tablespoons (30-45ml) honey or agave nectar (optional)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional, if fruit isn’t frozen solid)
- Fresh mint leaves, lime wheels, or whole strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the fruit: If using fresh fruit, peel and slice peaches, hull strawberries, and freeze on a baking sheet for at least 4 hours. If using frozen fruit, let it sit for 2 minutes to soften slightly.
- Blend the fruit base: Add frozen strawberries, frozen peach slices, and lime juice to a high-speed blender. Blend on low, gradually increasing to high, until the mixture forms a thick, grainy paste (about 1-2 minutes). Scrape down sides if needed.
- Add the fizz: With the blender running on low, slowly pour in the sparkling water. Blend for another 30 seconds until the mixture is frothy and combined.
- Sweeten to taste: Taste the slushie. If it is too tart, add honey or agave nectar and blend again. Adjust sweetness as desired.
- Serve immediately: Pour into tall glasses. Garnish with lime wheels and mint. Serve immediately as the slushie will begin to melt.
Notes
[‘Use frozen fruit for the best thick, slushy texture; fresh fruit will result in a thinner, smootherie-like consistency.’, ‘Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential for bright flavor; bottled juice can leave a metallic aftertaste.’, ‘For parties, freeze glassware beforehand to keep the drink cold longer.’, ‘Blend in batches if making a large quantity to ensure consistent texture.’, ‘This drink is best served immediately. If storing, keep the fruit base frozen and blend with sparkling water just before serving.’]
