Description
A beginner-friendly, 5-ingredient weeknight dinner featuring juicy chicken thighs with shatteringly crisp skin, coated in a sticky, sweet, and garlicky honey glaze. Ready in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 6–8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2–3 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs thoroughly dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil until smooth.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through, until the skin is golden brown and the meat is cooked through.
- Remove the basket and brush a generous layer of the honey garlic sauce over each thigh.
- Increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (200°C) and cook for another 2-3 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- Let the chicken rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Ensure chicken is patted completely dry before cooking to achieve crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. Honey burns easily, so apply the sauce after the chicken is mostly cooked. For a spicy version, add chili garlic sauce or sriracha to the glaze.
